healthcare costs in the United States

I went down a rabbit hole after someone claimed that Obama was
center-left.  I had some doubts about it, but it does look like he was
and, mostly, it was because of Obamacare (a.k.a. the ACA).  Then, I looked
like health care costs in the United States.

All countries which have lower overall healthcare costs subsidize or
supplement at least some of the cost to achieve that.

So, do you think that ideology is preventing the United States from
implementing a better lower-cost system?
