I recently starting having to pay $10,000 per month to support my
father-in-law ($120,000 per year). So, having an income of $500,000 would
definitely make me feel better.
It's possible that "safety and security" are attitudes (Buddhist monks do
a good job), but I think most people don't lean that way (including
myself).
