I looked it up.

It looks like it's tax deductible for Gail, but not for us, according to

as I suspected, since "the resident qualifies as their dependent" is not
true in this case.

We should probably relay this to Gail.  Perhaps she could be us back half
of the tax deduction at the end of the year, or something like that, if we
pay her directly.
