Obviously, older people (like us) would like his proposal, but the tax has
to be paid by someone. If it isn't older people, then other, younger
people will have to pick up the slack. Doesn't make a lot of sense since
younger people are struggling even more. And, in way, they are paying
more, anyway, since, when they buy into a home of their own, they are
reassessed and end up paying higher taxes. If anything, the system as-is
is working as designed -- older people pay less tax and younger people pay
more.
